Therabody TheraFace PRO Review: The under-$500 Face Multi-Tool

The TheraFace PRO is the gadget version of the “everything routine.” Here’s whether it’s worth it.

What’s in the box

The six functions:

• Red light (637nm), collagen support
• Blue light (414nm), acne treatment
• Microcurrent: facial muscle stimulation
• Percussive massage: circulation, lymph drainage
• Cleansing brush: gentle exfoliation
• Heat therapy: at higher settings

That’s a lot of jobs for one device.

What it does well

Percussive massage: this is genuinely best-in-class. Therabody’s massage gun heritage shines here, the facial percussion is therapeutic and feels great. Increases circulation, helps lymph drainage, reduces puffiness.

Cleansing brush: solid alternative to a Foreo Luna. Effective without being abrasive.

Travel utility: replaces 5 separate devices in your luggage.

What it doesn’t do well

Red light: the LED ring is small (~1.5 inches). For full-face treatment, you’d need to move it around for 20+ minutes. A dedicated mask delivers a better dose in less time.

Microcurrent: weaker than the NuFace Trinity. Provides some toning effect but won’t replace dedicated microcurrent.

Blue light: nice to have, not enough surface area for full acne treatment.

6-week experience

Used daily for 6 weeks, mostly the percussive massage + red light combo:

• Puffiness: significantly less morning swelling
• Circulation: visible flush after sessions
• Skin tone: subtle improvement
• Fine lines: minimal change (the dose isn’t high enough)

The percussive part is genuinely excellent. The other functions are bonuses.

How to use the TheraFace PRO

Therabody’s app walks you through routines, but the short version from the manual: cleanse first, then run each attachment on its timed cycle, about three minutes per zone for the LED rings and the percussive head and five minutes for microcurrent, which needs the conductive gel to work at all. Use the LED rings on clean, product-free skin, apply serums after, and charge between sessions because the battery drains quickly at higher settings. One thing buyers mix up: the TheraFace Mask is a separate hands-free LED mask from Therabody, not an attachment for the PRO; if full-face light is the goal, our LED mask shootout is the better comparison.

Who should buy

TheraFace PRO makes sense if:

• You want a multi-tool over specialized devices
• You travel a lot
• Percussive facial massage interests you specifically
• You’d otherwise own a Foreo + facial massager + LED wand
• You want one charging cable instead of five

Skip if:

• You want best-in-class red light (get an Omnilux mask)
• You want serious microcurrent (get NuFace)
• You want maximum results per dollar (build a focused routine)

Comparison to alternatives

vs Omnilux Contour (under $500): Omnilux is dedicated LED mask, much better dose. TheraFace is multi-tool.

vs NuFace Trinity (under $500): NuFace is dedicated microcurrent. Stronger lifting effect than TheraFace. Full head-to-head: TheraFace vs NuFACE.

vs Foreo Luna 4 (under $250): Foreo is dedicated cleansing brush. Comparable cleansing, but Foreo is half the price.

vs all of the above combined: ~$1,000+ separately. TheraFace at under $500 is a real value if you want all functions.

The verdict

Score: 8.4/10. Best multi-tool facial device. Worth it if you want one gadget over five. Single-purpose devices outperform it at each individual function.
