Succinic acid is an organic acid (naturally found in amber, sugarcane, and the human body) marketed as a gentle acne spot treatment. Works by regulating sebum and anti-inflammatory action. Less studied than salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Popular in The INKEY List and Herbivore products. Modest efficacy, gentle application.

Succinic acid skincare effects: regulates sebum production (reduces oiliness), anti-inflammatory (calms acne redness), gentle exfoliation, accelerates healing of mild breakouts.
